Corporate video production | Documentaries | Charity video production
I have been involved in video production for over 15 years in a variety of areas including corporate, documentary, music, event, sports and aerial films. I am based in south Wales primarily in Newport, Gwent and Llanelli in Carmarthenshire but I work with companies, agencies and individuals across Wales, the UK and beyond.
In that time I have been privileged to produce a variety of videos, motion graphics and animations for clients including Oxfam, the World Wild Life Fund (WWF), KPMG, The National Trust, The Welsh Government, Visit Wales, The Celtic Manor, Pfizer, Learn Direct, Careers Wales, Carmarthenshire Council and Monmouthshire Council to name a few.
I have always been interested in the whole technical process of video production, and therefore a key aspect of my work is being able to look after camera operation, sound, lighting and the post production process, working with the client or producers/directors to get the best outcome. I am also a CAA approved drone pilot, and I increasingly use drones as part of my productions. I use the latest DSLR/Mirrorless cameras in my productions, as well as smaller camera’s like GoPro’s and my state of the art drone, the DJI Inspire 2 with the X5S camera. I am also experienced with broadcast cameras such as the Sony FS7 and I have live streamed events and conferences.
For post production, I extensively use the Adobe Creative Suite in particular Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator together with the 3D modelling software Cinema 4D.
Many of my clients use me as an all in one technical solution, using me to both film and edit projects. There are of course productions where one person cannot and shouldn’t do everything, in which case I’m often asked to be a key member of a film crew, whether that’s filming from the ground, with my drone above, or editing/creating motion graphics and animations in the post production process.
I am available for freelance hire, if your interested in using me in your project please do get in touch.
Some examples of my video work:
We were asked by Urdd Gobaith Cymru to produce a series of promotional videos for their adventure centres across Wales. This is the video for the spectacular centre at Llangrannog in west Wales. Directed by Elin Mannion.
WWF Earth Hour
I was asked to film and live stream the marking of Earth Hour 2017 for the WWF in Wales.
This involved filming the event in Cardiff Bay, live streaming it to Facebook and editing a highlights video afterwards.
Monmouthshire from the Sky
I was commissioned by Visit Monmouthshire to make a series of aerial videos featuring several landmarks and attractions across the county.
The films were unveiled at the 2016 Monmouthshire Eisteddfod and were also used by the BBC, ITV and S4C.
Min y Don Adventure Centre
I was asked to make a promotional video for the popular Min y Don adventure centre in Snowdonia, showcasing the various activities and the location.
Care for the Family charity appeal video
Many major charities use promotional videos to help gain support, and for over 10 years the charity Care for the Family had been using a 7 minute video to give an overview of their work in order to gain support at events that they held.
I was asked to film and edit the new version in collaboration with in house script writers and directors. All of the video was filmed by myself with the exception of the bereaved parent interview in the middle of the video.
The video has been well received and is now regularly shown to audiences of several hundred at a time at charity events and conferences.
The 1-2-1 Challenge is a fantastic weekend adventure run by Care for the Family for one parent and one child.
This promotional video was produced to help publicize the weekend and is a mix of footage filmed at one of the weekends and motion graphics based on the printed brochure.
