School Drone Workshops

Drone Workshop
Our educational drone workshops give students a hands-on introduction to one of the fastest-growing technologies in the world.
Designed for primary and secondary schools, these sessions combine exciting drone flight demonstrations with clear explanations of how drones work, where they can legally be flown, and the many ways they are used in real-world industries.
During the workshop, students will see professional drones in action while learning about the science and technology behind them. We explain the basics of flight, cameras, GPS positioning, and how drones are controlled, helping students understand the engineering and problem-solving involved in operating them safely. The sessions are interactive, with plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion.
Safety and responsibility are a key part of the workshop. Students will learn about the rules that drone pilots must follow in the UK, why those rules exist, and how drones can be flown safely around people, buildings and wildlife. This helps build awareness of responsible technology use and introduces students to aviation regulations in an engaging way.
We also explore how drones are used professionally in industries such as filmmaking, construction, surveying, emergency services, agriculture and environmental research. By connecting drone technology to real careers, the workshop encourages students to think about future opportunities in technology, engineering, and creative industries.
The aim is to inspire curiosity, demystify the technology, and give students a better understanding of how drones are shaping the modern world.
Whether used as part of a STEM enrichment day, a technology workshop or a special school event, these drone workshops for schools provide a memorable learning experience that combines technology, aviation and real-world applications.
“We were absolutely delighted to welcome James to Jubilee Park Primary School for the interactive drone workshop. From the moment the session began, our Year 5 and 6 pupils were captivated. The workshop kept every child engaged, curious, and eager to learn more. It was wonderful to see even our quieter learners brimming with confidence as they explored the technology.

The workshop linked well with our current theme exploring the possibilities of tech in the future. You helped bring those ideas to life in such a tangible and exciting way. By the end of the session, the children had developed a really secure understanding of how drones are already shaping our daily lives. They were able to discuss both the positive and negative uses of drone technology with real maturity in a follow up lesson.

One of the most powerful moments was showing the children how drones are used across different industries. It opened their eyes to a whole world of future careers and helped them see technology not just as something fun, but as something with real purpose and potential.

We would welcome you back to Jubilee Park Primary School anytime. The children are already buzzing with ideas, and we can’t wait to share our final learning product with you — which will be partly inspired by your fantastic visit.

Thank you again for such an inspiring and memorable workshop.”
